Pennsylvania Digital Photos and Documents

The Genealogy collection at the State Library of Pennsylvania is a rich trove of materials for researchers in family and local history.  Local and county histories, city directories, warrant maps, church and cemetery records, and family histories provide a variety of primary and secondary source materials.  Combined with the State Library of Pennsylvania's unrivaled collection of Pennsylvania newspapers, the Genealogy collection has resources for almost everyone with Pennsylvania ancestors.

In addition to our print collection of genealogy resources, the State Library's Digital Library includes many historical newspapers and other genealogical resources.

Harrisburg Newspaper Index: An index of personal names in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania newspaper announcements of marriages and deaths published during the first quarter of the 1800's. The four newspapers included are: Dauphin Guardian, Oracle of Dauphin, Harrisburg Chronicle, and Harrisburg Republican.

Family Trees and Records: A digital collection of family and ancestral trees from the State Library of Pennsyvlania's Genealogy Collection.

Harrisburg Necrology Scrapbook: A scrapbook project collecting obituaries of civil war veterans and other prominent citizens of the Harrisburg, PA area.
