Web Archives

A listing of archived web sites.

Web archiving at the State Library of Pennsylvania

What are web archives?  They are web sites captured at a specific date and time to preserve the contents, look, and feel of that site in perpetuity.  Have you ever gone to look for a web site and found that it had disappeared, or changed considerably from the last time you visited?  Web archives can take you back to the way that site was.

The State Library of Pennsylvania partners with Archive-It and their Community Web Program to preserve web sites representing the varied communities of Pennsylvania.  Through this program, we are selecting and archiving communities and organizations for future generations.  Our list includes a wide range, from mushroom clubs to LGBTQ advocacy organizations, churches, synagogues, small local newspapers, and volunteer historical societies.

Know a community organization that would be a candidate for inclusion in our archive?  Please let us know via this form
